Just typing the title makes me tired. Whew! Lately I feel like keeping the blog updated is difficult. It’s easy to say, “I’m tired” and “I’ll do it tomorrow”. Truth is I have some posts that I let slide because it’s easier to just put it off and then of course it never gets done. But this blog is for my three of a kind and they will want to look back at their younger days one day.
Let’s start with Field Day at school this year. Field Day was the Friday a week ago before we got out for Spring Break. The boys seemed to have a great time. I snuck away from my kinder kiddos long enough to snap a few photos of Spencer and Briggs during their class events. I think I got a few more of Briggs because I could tell Spencer was over the whole mom taking photos thing in front of friends thing. He’s really growing up.
Spring Break and Easter were very low key. We hung out at home, the boys swam, got haircuts, went to a few appointments, hunted for eggs, and had a family dinner. Sometimes it’s nice to just get things done without moving a super speed.
The weather was so beautiful. This guy decided to take his afternoon nap in the breeze on the porch. Of course, he would snuggle up with one of his eggs!
This guy caught his first bass! He was soooooooooooo excited and very proud!
I’ve been wanting to snap a few photos of my guys together lately. So, the hunt began for some great locations. Briggs and Rico were at baseball practice so Spencer, Reid, and I drove around and tested a few areas. I want to go back when Reid gets over his respiratory junk he’s dealing with right now and get a few shots of all three of my loves together.
Chocolate bunnies are GOOOOOOOOOOD!!!
The hubs caught a bass last week also!
Alright…now about that hospital thing. Reid started having a little bit of a runny nose and coughing on Wednesday. We started neb treatments and nasal sprays which is our “go to” method we try each time we think he’s catching a cold. Sometimes we can kick it in the but and move and and other times we have to go in and get seen. I could feel my anxiety rising Thursday evening because I knew I was going to take him to the doctor in the morning and well since our last hospitalization (11 days) with RSV/pneumonia, I get super nervous when he’s starting to show symptoms of any kind.
I took him in Friday morning and his sats were 85-87…EEK! I had just given a breathing treatment an hour before we got there too! They did two back to back treatments and he came up to 91. Reid’s baseline is usually 94-96. The decision was made to be admitted and catch things early since this guy get pneumonia so easily. I asked that the also test for RSV since that combo did such a number on him last time. SCARY! They did the RSV test and x rays when we got to the hospital. Both were great news. Negative for RSV and there didn’t appear to be any pneumonia by looking at the scans. Yay! They gave him a continuous aerosol treatment and then followed with neb treatments every two hours. He is also on an antibiotic and steroid now. He improved while we were there and we came home yesterday. Rico and I are used to keeping him on the oxygen during the day when he’s sick and giving around the clock neb treatments. Usually, we continue this pattern for about a week before he’s keeping his sats up and sounding clear. He had a great day today and I can tell he’s happy to be home! Me too! Hopefully, he makes a full recovery soon. Since I’m still trying to catch up on sleep from the lack of sleep in the hospital, I think I’ll publish this without rereading or editing. Nite everyone!
