Today Reid is 17 months old and that is awesome! Let me explain…
Since the moment I started following blogs of other parents that have children with achondroplasia, I have been in love with this age! To me, this is THE cutest, squishiest, most adorable age for kids with achondroplasia.
See what I mean by “squishiest”?!!
When I had Spencer and Briggs I was more into the nine month age. With Reid, I’m all about the 17 months! Although, I am looking forward to two and when he’s walking. This weekend, I just could not stop snapping photos and videoing him. Reid is sitting up really well now and he’s also pulling up on low furniture and CRUISING!! Yesterday was slipcover washing day around here and the couch – the cushions = big hit for Reid.
He would immediately crawl over, pull up, and cruise back and forth. Of course, we kept moving objects to the other side to get him to turn around and do it again…had to see it more than once.
He’s sitting up in the shopping carts when we go out now which has him receiving all kinds of new attention. He’s also sitting up well in restaurant highchairs which is a whole new freedom for Rico and I. Yay! I can’t wait to see where this little man is headed.
He just LOVES watching movies on the brothers’ iPads!
Adorable... he seems to be doing really well cruising.
ReplyDeleteHi. My name is Amirah from Malaysia. It is really interesting to discover your blog.
ReplyDeleteMyself is a mother of 25 months old anchondroplasia boy. We named him Ammar. Just wanna share with you that my Ammar also loves to do what Reid likes to do, especially lying on the floor and he would hold his leg up. That is so cute. I'm so blessed to have Ammar.
Keep up with more post. Take care.
That's my precious Reid!! I love to see him getting so big!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that squishy butt!!! He is just the cutest boy ever!!!
Happy 17 months!!! Xoxoxo
OH! Those legs! I love that last pose. That's so exciting for you and him as he gets more and more independent, though it looks like he's going to be keeping you on your toes once he really takes off!
