So, what have we been up to lately??? Well….
We’ve been busy, busy, busy lately! But, who isn’t right? Our Spencer Man had a state championship chess tournament in Atlanta last weekend. Since, Briggs’ birthday was right around the corner (today) we decided to go to the Georgia Aquarium while we were in Atlanta. I have to admit – I was a little relieved when he said he wanted to do the aquarium instead of a party this year. Work has been a little overwhelming lately…whew! Thanks Briggs! (aquarium pics in next post)
Reid has been pulling up on stuff and cruising along the furniture. I’m getting excited about the thought of him walking and at the same time, I have to admit, it’s been kind of nice having him stay a “baby” for so long. Our house and porches are full of stairs and hard floors. EEK! Hopefully, there won’t be too many bumps along the way.
We had our annual Biography Blitz/Character Parade at Lake Park Elementary. Pre-K through Second Grade dressed as a favorite book character. Briggs was Carl Fredricksen from Up. Yes, I know you are thinking that is a movie but I did check and it’s a book too. It was easy to throw that look together since Rico works at a Barnes Heathcare. He brought the cane home and a bow tie, baby powder (for his hair), and a few tennis balls later we were in business!
My kindergarten class represented the book, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. Yay!
Third, fourth, and fifth grade participated in a Biography Blitz. Our awesome media specialist helped our fifth graders put together some impressive presentations on the Smart Board. Spencer chose to do his project on Ulysses S. Grant.
